Is DBT for you?

  • Learn to regulate your emotions
  • Improve your relationships
  • Learn how to cope with stressful situations
  • Set and achieve your important goals

Evidence shows that DBT can help in these areas of your life, but starting DBT also requires a big commitment.

Are you willing and able to:

  • make a commitment to attend skills group and individual therapy for a minimum of 6 months
  • make a commitment to practice skills each week and discuss them with others in the group
  • complete homework and self-reflection each week

Comprehensive DBT involves a six-month commitment to attending following weekly:

SKILLS CLASS

  • Weekly meetings with a small group of people.
  • Teaching on important skills for improving your emotional regulation
  • An expectation to practice skills and report back to the group about how it went

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

  • Weekly appointments with an individual therapist who will support you on your journey and help you connect the skills to your own personal goals
  • An opportunity to discuss things that make implementing skills difficult
  • A supportive, non-judgmental professional who is invested in helping you obtain the goals you hope to achieve

DBT CONSULTATION TEAM MEETINGS

  • Our DBT consultation team meets weekly to ensure we are delivering effective treatment, enhance our clinical skills, and ensure fidelity to the DBT model.
  • Individual clients may or may not be discussed with the team
  • Team meetings are strictly confidential

Comprehensive DBT is a commitment to attendance but it is also a commitment to a financial cost.

Skills classes are $100 per week. Individual counselling costs between $100 - $150 per week depending on the therapist you are assigned to. Full payment for the skills class modules and the individual counselling is required at the beginning of each module (modules vary in length from 7 - 9 weeks).

Estimated total cost to participate in the full 6-month DBT program is $4,800-$6,000. The exact amount will depend on the cost of your individual counselling and personal health coverage.

We acknowledge that this is a significant cost and it may feel challenging. However, it is likely that those who have struggled with emotional regulation have been struggling for a very long time. Evidence shows that investing in the complete program has a very high success rate. Although it is impossible to give guarantees, if you invest fully in the cost, attendance, practice and relationships being offered by this program, research shows you could feel better about your life and your own capacity after only 6 months.

We think you deserve that kind of relief from your struggle.
